Blow by Blow

This September, Christie's had planned to hold an auction in London of the late Isabella Blow's wardrobe; however, this sale has now been called off, after a private buyer, rumoured to be the Couture collector Daphne Guinness, purchased the entire inventory.

The collection includes designs by Alexander McQueen, John Galliano, Manolo Blahnik and Philip Treacy (50 hats, apparently!), and will now remain whole, as per the buyers' wishes.

They are accompanied by a collection of portraits of Blow by Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, David LaChapelle, and Karl Lagerfeld.

If Guinness is indeed behind the purchase, then the historic clothes are sure to be well and appropriately looked after - Guinness was both a friend and distant relative of Isabella Blow.
